Has the LC set foot in a Crown Court recently (or ever)?
Cases fixed for trial for 9 months being taken out the day before they are due to be heard and refixed 9 months later due to "lack of court time" . Fixed cases with child witnesses becoming floater trials- and not reached- due to "lack of court time", the children attending court in the expectation of giving evidence against their parents. Cases in the warned list taking over 3 years to be listed for trial. A defendant who pleaded guilty in November 2015 being sentenced in February 2019 after his co-defendants were finally tried, their "fixed" trial twice being taken out and on each ocassion relisted a year later. Centres with six courtrooms having two courts sitting. And there is no work for Recorders?
