I would not have turned down an equity partner at the top firm I worked at - now work for myself. Of course I canno know if that were not offered to me because of gender and the fact of small children (I only took a few weeks off for babies so the fact I had them had no impact on any firm).
When we can have 80% of highest paid equity partners at the best firms female without anyone batting an eyelid simply because in that particular time or year women were the best then we will be getting somewhere.
