Yes I do believe that no deal is a way out. It emphatically is not the best way out, but it is a way out. No deal hurts everyone including the EU and would lead to years of difficult negotiations.

Do I want no deal - I can't make my mind up. Sometimes I think it is the best way out - share the pain. Sometimes I think no. On balance I would rather have a deal than no deal, but because of politics that is unlikely.

The politics point was Liam Fox's, something that is always overlooked when quoting his "easiest deal" part. That's the way it goes - national governments look out for their own national interests first.
