To quote the barrister, as reported "I deeply regret my behaviour on that occasion" - not sure the last three words exactly represent an unqualified expression of regret - what about other occasions? The whole thing smacks of 'boys will be boys [nudge, nudge; wink, wink] better do something to reflect an element of disapproval, without going overboard about it'.

One wonders what the victim of what was clearly a sexual assault thinks about the penalty; indeed, why were the police not involved, as the facts as reported (and admitted) appear to warrant prosecution and, on conviction, entry on the sex offenders register? Surely he would have been disbarred then, so why the different approach here. Doesn't make sense...
