This bears on the performance of the regulatory system. If the post-2007 overly duplicated and intrusive regulatory environment hasn't reduced complaints or instances of negligence since its introduction, then why ? What exactly has the LSB, SRA et al achieved in terms of client satisfaction, reduced complaints, less negligence claims etc compared to pre-2007 ? Maybe the Gazette could look into this too. Has the existing regulatory system been wonderfully successful or not ? It's terrific at loading up the profession with red tape, getting rid of people and landing them huge costs orders but beyond that, what are the hard facts - not the waffle - on actual performance.
