Either the agreement was legally and morally acceptable, or it wasn't.

If it wasn't, has the money been returned?

The parties entered into the agreement, doubtless after full advice.

If there were allegations and they were not admitted or litigated, this paves the way for booby traps for anyone who seeks to settle anything to avoid a claim and asks for confidentiality.

No-one forces anyone to take a payment in these circumstances.

I am sure there are plenty of lawyers who would 'take a stand' and act if someone wanted 'to go all the way'.

Where does it end? Can anyone who has ever signed an agreement to settle anything, simply complain of 'unfair bargaining power' and have the other side's lawyer clapped in irons.

All this does is make a settlement much less likely and litigation much more likely.

Hopefully, the SDT will look at the issues rather than going tabloid.
