Presumably it'll be "tough cheese" as my understanding is that the changes will mean a party cannot contest the petition.

Which is kind of a good thing - why should the unhappy party have to go through a legal process proving why they are unhappy to a requisite legal standard? Unmarried couples don't have to when their relationships break down, and mature rational adults recognise when their relationship has gone down the pan.
