Now we wait to see how the administration will make a mess of this, too, by getting the fine detail wrong as they do so frequently, now. How will "requirement to provide a statement of irretrievable breakdown" be translated into constructive law? Can it be challenged? Will it need some supporting evidence? If the statement can be challenged it provides little remedy other than shortening the consent divorce period from the current 2 years. If it can't, it is a recipe for abuse. The draft Bill will undoubtedly provide some amusement.
