A 'fairer distribution of wealth', 8.21 ? Then how about a fairer distribution of hours, responsibility, experience, liability and potential bankruptcy too ? Those at the top, especially in small firms, sweated to get where they are. It didn't just fall into their lap. They themselves worked their way up, also on low wages but were more clever or industrious than their competitors to build up a client base and an organisation to serve it - and even to give people jobs. And while younger, less experienced staff sit comfortably at home with their feet up at nights and on weekends, those higher up are out bringing in the work at all hours for them to do or worrying about how to pay the next wages bill. Should the 'fairer distribution' also include a fairer distribution of liability if the firm hits the rocks ? Whose house is on the line with the banks to service the firm's overdraft ? Certainly not those in unions. The world doesn't owe any of us a living.
