I can’t help thinking that all the chatter about “no fault divorce” and the MoJ’s and media’s obsession with prisons and rehabilitation has allowed the clear and obvious deficiencies in our Justice systems to continue and grow. Add to that the regular promises (from Senior Judiciary and HMCTS) of the sunny grassy uplands that AI/IT will provide in the future and one can understand how this catastrophe has been created.

Courts work best when there are people employed in them who know the local situation best, who take pride in their job and who have time and resources to do the job properly.

We are so far removed from what we require to be done in Courts that I wonder if any Government will ever give the Justice systems the resources required.
