Law Society vice-president Jonathan Smithers (centre) joined City law firm Olswang and Blackstone Chambers to meet students at Haverstock School in Chalk Farm, London.

They discussed topical issues, including human rights, consumer law, police powers and social media. The visit was undertaken as part of the Lawyers in Schools programme designed to raise young people’s understanding of the law.

The programme, run by the Citizenship Foundation, links law firms, in-house legal teams and chambers with secondary schools across Britain.
