Solicitor general Robert Buckland QC visited a west London school to learn about a scheme to give young people a better understanding of the law. The Lawyers in School project, run by the Citizenship Foundation, sees pupils being taught by lawyers from City firm Olswang.

Buckland, who was at the Burlington Danes Academy in White City last week, said: ‘The legal system is one of the key ways in which our society functions as a democracy. Understanding that link is essential for all young people to become confident, effective members of society.’
