Honduras will be the focus of the Law Society’s contribution to this year’s Day of the Endangered Lawyer, which will be marked on Friday (22 January).

According to the Society, Honduras remains one of the most dangerous countries to be a human rights defender. Between 2010 and 2014, 101 campaigners were killed in the Central American state.

Tony Fisher, chair of the Law Society Human Rights Committee, said: ‘On the Day of the Endangered Lawyer we pay tribute to those human rights defenders risking everything to protect the most vulnerable people in society.’
