It falls to few individuals to enjoy the privilege of having a piece of the legal landscape named after them. But in the ranks of Denning, Woolf and Jackson now belongs Keith Etherington, senior associate at Slater and Gordon and Law Society Council member for civil litigation.

Etherington is a tireless campaigner for improvements in procedure at the County Court Money Claims Centre in Salford. One of his demands was for a good old-fashioned letterbox for solicitors wanting to drop off papers in person. After three years of asking, he tells Obiter, his request has been granted – and appropriately monikered.

Well done, Keith. Obiter’s just popping out now, to pop a letter in the Etherington.
