The conversion of a Liverpool magistrates’ court into a cinema tickled some of our readers.

David Chambers of Grantham suggests some suitable items on the bill, including Jingle All The Way (1996) ‘to remind all that some visits of the past were not exactly voluntary’ and, from the same year One Fine Day. ‘This speaks for itself, but would be thinly attended if the ticket price was considered to be disproportionate.’

Then there is Beaks: The Movie. ‘Showing this would undoubtedly be reminiscent of some poor soul of a defendant before a busy, highly preened, full and aged hench – sorry, bench.’
