London-based construction and energy law specialist firm Fenwick Elliott has made up two associates to partners. Both David Bebb and Thomas Young’s new roles will take effect from 1 April 2014.

David Bebb has particular focus on the non-contentious aspects of projects and procurement strategies and works closely with project teams on site, advising on issues as they arise. David’s most recent projects include advising a joint venture on a major Crossrail tunnelling contract and advising a main contractor in relation to a £120m refurbishment of a London hotel.

David joined the firm eight years ago, prior to joining Fenwick Elliott, David was in-house counsel at both Canary Wharf Group PLC and Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd.

Contentious lawyer Thomas Young’s practice spans both the domestic and international markets. He handles major project disputes in relation to oil and gas, tunnelling, infrastructure, water treatment, process and power plants and residential projects.

Thomas has recently acted for a Korean contractor in relation to claims in excess of $30 million arising from a desalination project in the Middle East and has acted for the operator of a pipeline in the Caspian region in an ICC arbitration where the value of the claims are in excess of $200 million.

Thomas joined Fenwick Elliott in 2006 from Shadbolt and Co LLP, becoming an associate in 2009.
