International law firm Addleshaw Goddard has appointed Kirsty Black and Hannah Quarterman to its real estate team.

Joining Addleshaw Goddard's Manchester office from Shoosmiths, where she led the north real estate disputes team, Black brings over 20 years of experience advising on complex commercial property disputes, with a particular focus on landlord and tenant law. Her expertise includes business lease renewals, rent reviews, restrictive covenant issues, rights of occupation, landlord’s consents, dilapidations, and service charge disputes.
Black's appointment follows the arrival of managing associate Emily Short and associate Hollie Wright from Shoosmiths last year.
Chris Perrin, partner and head of real estate disputes Manchester, commented: 'We’re thrilled to welcome Kirsty to the team. Her extensive experience and proven track record advising major occupiers and landlords on strategic property matters will be a huge asset to our clients and a key driver of growth for the practice. Kirsty’s appointment, alongside Emily and Hollie last year, reflects our ambition to build a powerhouse Real Estate Disputes team and reinforces our commitment to delivering exceptional depth and breadth of service across the real estate sector.'
Quarterman joins the firm’s London office as a partner in the planning and infrastructure consenting team, bringing nearly two decades of experience from Hogan Lovells, where she led the planning team. She advises leading developers on strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, and the delivery of complex, multi-phase developments. Her track record includes high-profile projects such as Brent Cross Town, Bishopsgate Goodsyard, and major regeneration schemes across London.
Marnix Elsenar, partner and head of planning and infrastructure consenting, commented: 'Hannah brings exceptional insight and experience across all planning-related matters, having advised some of the country’s most prominent developers. Her arrival directly supports our strategic ambition to lead on London’s most significant transformational schemes. We are delighted to welcome Hannah to the team.'
