Kim Griffith, wills and probate partner at Devon firm Roger Richards, emailed Obiter with a typing slip that caused much sniggering when it came in. Her firm used to contain the name Hayman, so you can probably guess the virginal error.
But Obiter was more tickled when Griffith went on to tell us about her new wheels – a red Isetta bubble car called Bertie. It is apparently made in Brighton, under licence from BMW, so ‘I can tell everyone I drive a beemer.’ Albeit one that’s only 8ft-long, has a 300cc motorcyle engine and does a maximum of about 30 mph downhill with a following wind.
She wonders if there are any more Isetta owners in the legal profession. Don’t be shy: after all, what could be more post-bubble than a bubble car?
