We have all heard of the Seven Wonders of the World – the Colossus of Rhodes, the Hanging Gardens of Babylon etcetera, but Obiter has learned of a new addition to the monumental list – the Fertility Toilet of South Wales. It is to be found in the Crown Prosecution Service at Merthyr Tydfil, and according to the staff there, accounts for a recent spate of seven pregnancies. The first to become with child after a visit to the magic water closet, was solicitor and Senior Crown Prosecutor, Catherine Owen, who gave birth to her son Elija in April. Shelly Hopkins, an associate prosecutor and one of the mums to be, said the captivating power of the cubicle has meant that half of the office make sure they use it, while the other half live in fear of it and have to run to the little boy’s room instead. Obiter extends its congratulations and best wishes to the new and expectant mothers.
