Doing pro bono work is good for the soul, but who says you can't have a little enlightened self-interest at the same time? Back to the City office of US firm Weil Gotshal & Manges, where they have chosen their projects well. First, partners help out fellow Manchester United fans Shareholders United in trying to prevent Malcolm Glazer from taking over their club. Now, the firm has advised Oxfam on launching Progreso, a chain of Fairtrade coffee shops, which should help during late-night completion meetings.
