More news of pugilistic members of the legal sector. Following on from Isle of Man lawyer Paul Beckett, who proudly told Obiter that he’s the only member of the Real Fight Club to have been knocked out cold (see [2004] Gazette, 27 May, 11), Louise Walsh, a 29-year-old secretary at Cardiff firm Leo Abse & Cohen, is set to become Wales’s only professional female boxer. As you can see from this picture of Ms Walsh with seven-time world featherweight champion Steve Robinson, her trainer, and Clive Garrett-Evans, a solicitor in the firm’s commercial department, she can certainly pack a punch. A handy person to have around when the other side of a deal push their luck.
