Solicitors have a habit of undermining their own status. A good example is Cartwright King’s latest offering, as reported in the Gazette (and given ‘headline’ treatment) which boasts about helping the legal ‘industry’ to move into the 21st century.

It would help if your sub-editors would eliminate the word ‘industry’ from the Gazette because it will be impossible to stop my fellow solicitors from being so careless.

Michael Loup, Neustadt, Germany

Editor’s note: the Gazette uses the word ‘industry’ when solicitors use it – but many of you, like our correspondent, take exception to the term. What do other readers think?
