Let's hope that Richard Haywood, managing partner of top Birmingham firm Wragge & Co, doesn't have to do any fee-earning, because otherwise his participation in the president's forum cost the firm a good few hundred pounds.
Such was the concentration on legal aid at the hour-long session, that his contribution as one of the five panellists began, and ended, with a couple of minutes of introductory remarks.
But it wasn't a complete waste - at least he got to meet Nick Owen (of Anne & Nick fame), who hosted the session.
