More fun and games at the Inns of Court disciplinary tribunal, which has just published a ruling that David Garin Alexander Robinson, a barrister in independent practice, 'on 16th August 2003, engaged in conduct discreditable to a barrister'. So what exactly had Mr Robinson done to deserve a ticking-off? 'Immediately after the magistrates at Balham Youth Court had retired,' the tribunal found, 'he said "fuck off" and made an offensive gesture with two fingers towards the door through which they had left court.' Even though the magistrates did not hear, or see the behaviour, the tribunal decided to reprimand him. Apparently, 'there were mitigating circumstances in the attitude of the magistrates', but sadly, no details were given of what exactly these were.
