Our thanks to south-west firm Stephens & Scown for sending us a picture of corporate partner James Keliher with actor Robert Bathurst of 'Cold Feet' fame. Bathurst has his own show based on the Daily Telegraph's satirical 'Alex' cartoon about an investment banker. He's about to set off on a world tour incorporating Dubai and Singapore, but thanks to Keliher's (considerable) powers of persuasion, agreed to kick off events in Devon.


The bash was part of a fundraising dinner for the law firm's chosen patient care charity, Force. What struck us most about the picture, though, is the almost scary resemblance between the two chaps, especially when you compare the actor with Keliher's website picture (above, inset). It's the same smile, same nose and chin, even the same ears - surely this can't be coincidence? Obiter was forced to investigate.



They are not actually related, it transpires, but they are old pals from school, where floppy hair must have been part of the uniform. 'One or two people have mentioned that we look similar,' says Keliher. 'But I'm the short thin one, and he's the big fat one.' Obiter would not dream of commenting on the esteemed actor's girth - which we are sure is no wider than it should be - but we suggest that, if he ever gets a part in a James Bond movie, we know where he could find a good stunt double.
