Co-operative Legal Services has put in an early and compelling bid for the 'utterly pointless research of the year' award with a poll of 3,000 people to find the 'Greatest Will of all Time'. The winner was William Shakespeare, who a press release helpfully explains is a 'famous English poet... largely considered to be one of the best playwrights in literary history'. Willy Wonka came second - 'incredibly this fictional star beat superstars such as Will Smith, Will Ferrell and even HRH Prince William'. Somehow, this is meant to encourage people to make a will, but more incredibly it makes one yearn for the Law Society's Will Power initiative years ago, featuring a weedy bloke dressed up in a Superman-type outfit.
