Wine of the times
Word reaches Obiter of a sudden upsurge of interest in information sessions held by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA).
While no one doubts the obvious attractions of an opportunity to discuss regulatory matters, SRA bods have been left wondering why it has received twice the usual number of applications to attend February's upcoming roadshow at, ahem, England's biggest vineyard.
Speaking of the extraordinary pulling power of the event, at Denbies Vineyard in Surrey, an SRA source deadpanned: 'We are baffled. There appears to be an unexplained surge in popularity for the SRA. Huge numbers of solicitors are suddenly anxious to be briefed on the Code of Conduct, Rule 5 and other issues. It is hugely encouraging.'
We'll drink to that.
