It is with a heavy heart that I learn that the Solicitors Regulation Authority has issued a 2,300-word guidance note to instruct solicitors how to communicate without causing offence.

I have neither the time nor inclination to read it. Therefore, my comment is solely based upon the learned report from Michael Cross in the Gazette.

It appears that one is directed not to refer to women in derogatory terms – is the other gender included, or not?

How much further does the SRA believe that the profession should be micromanaged?

Most professionals, thankfully, behave professionally. For the very few who do not behave properly, take proceedings against them; but spare us, please, from issuing such needless material.
