Domestic violence convictions reached their highest level ever in 2013/14, the director of public prosecutions announced.
Some 58,278 people (75% of those prosecuted) were convicted. Prosecutions for violence against women and girls also showed the highest-ever conviction rate at 74%.
Consultation on government's proposals to reform 1998 act expected within the next two months.
