International firm Pinsent Masons has enjoyed a strong year, according to new figures, posting increased revenue and a healthy rise in profit per equity partner.

According to the firms latest results, for the year ending 30 April 2017, it had global turnover of £423m, an 11% rise on the financial year 2015/16. Profit per equity partner rose to £625,000, a 14% increase.

Excluding the impact of currency fluctuations the firm achieved like-for-like turnover growth of 7%, it said.

John Cleland, managing partner, said: ‘We remain committed to our vision of being recognised as an international market leader in our global sectors, and this has been borne out by the investments we have made and will continue to make.’

‘We are expanding our business to support clients not just across a wider range of geographies and legal service lines, but also across alternative forms of delivery model which provide innovative ways to address the challenges they face.’

The firm opened a Johannesburg office earlier this year, its first in Africa, as well as a six partner team in Madrid. The previous 12 months have also seen 16 partner promotions, which helped the firm surpass its target of achieving 25% female representation among its partnership by 2018.
