Stewarts Law has revealed it is taking on just 25% of its autumn trainee cohort - the lowest of any firm to announce their retention rate so far.

The litigation firm confirmed it is retaining just one of four trainees due to qualify this year.

Although firms have generally posted strong scores Stewarts joins other low scorers including US outfit Weil Gotshal & Manges, which took on 50% of its cohort, and magic circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer (66%).

Last month the Gazette reported that Stewarts had boosted overall revenue by 25% and profit per equity partner share by 30%.

PEP stood at £2m represents while overall revenue was £78.1m.
