Regarding mandatory price disclosure, the SRA does not appear to understand the difference between providing a service and selling a product.

Those that wish to sell what should be a service as a product should be obliged to publish their prices (and ‘add ons’). Those of us who provide a service do not, for instance, deal with the sale or purchase of a property, we deal with a person who wishes that transaction to be effected. Clients are different and have differing criteria. Most wish to receive a service which relates to what are usually some of the most important transactions they will be involved in during their lifetime.
