Stone King is delighted to welcome experienced charity lawyer Tim Rutherford who joins the firm’s market-leading charity team.

Tim advises on all aspects of charity law that impact on the day-to-day activities of third-sector organisations and joins Stone King from IBB Solicitors, where he was a partner in the charities team.

Tim also has a strong background in risk management and advises charities on this complex area of law.

His experience includes dealing with the formation and registration of charities, internal governance issues and disputes, and advising trustees involved in Charity Commission investigations.

Tim is a member of both the Charity Law Association and the executive committee of the Conference of Solicitors for Catholic Charities.

Stone King, which represents hundreds of voluntary organisations including many of the country’s largest charities, is ranked as a national leader in charity law in the Chambers UK 2014.

Stone King’s managing partner Steven Greenwood said: ‘Tim has considerable experience in many areas of charity law and particular expertise advising clients involved in disputes. We are therefore delighted to welcome him to our fast-growing charity team where his expertise will be much in demand.’
