Since its inception in 2006, Carr has also chaired the Home Builders Federation (HBF) Legal Group, comprising the General Counsel to the major national housebuilders.

Bewley Homes’ chairman Greg Locke added: 'I’m delighted to welcome Peter to the Board at Bewley Homes. I’ve worked closely with Peter for many years and this appointment further strengthens the Bewley Board as we grow the business over the coming years.'

'Peter’s knowledge and experience is second to none in the industry and he has operated at the highest level for over three decades. He’ll be a superb asset to Bewley Homes and the Board.'

Carr also worked as legal director and company secretary at Woolwich Homes for 10 years. He spent his early career working as a property development solicitor in private practice in the UK and Australia.
