National law firm Weightmans has appointed construction and engineering expert Ian Hardman as partner.
Based in the firm’s Manchester office, Ian is the latest specialist construction lawyer to join the Weightmans’ national Built Environment team after a series of new hires in the last year. He joins the firm from Brabners, where he headed the non-contentious construction team.
Ian has a wide range of experience providing advice upon all different types of procurement options and documentation in relation to large building and engineering projects across many sectors including education, retail, maritime, developers/investors and energy.
Legal directories Chambers UK and the Legal 500 rate Ian as one of the leading construction lawyers in the North-West, with Chambers reporting that clients are ‘hugely impressed - everything we ask for is done in a timely manner and to a high standard’. Legal 500 describes Ian as ‘an experienced and commercially astute lawyer’.
Ian said: ’Weightmans has an enviable reputation in providing a high quality, commercial service to clients in the construction sector, whilst drawing on the expertise of specialists from across the firm to provide a truly holistic service. I am looking forward to collaborating with colleagues and clients to deliver results and success for all. It is great to be here.’
Partner and head of construction Colette Morgan-Ford added: ’Ian is joining us at an exciting time and it is a real testament to the team and wider firm that we are able to attract an expert with such an outstanding reputation to our quickly-growing department.
’He will play a pivotal role in our ongoing growth, and we are delighted to have made such a significant hire.’
