Emsleys Solicitors has made two senior appointments. Peter Watson joins the firm as a director to support the firm’s future development, working closely with Emsleys’ management team and department heads. Peter is a dual qualified solicitor, having previously practised in Australia and has many years’ experience managing a UK top 100 national law firm. He has contributed to The Law Society’s Practice Management Handbook and is a trustee of Just a Drop, an international water aid charity.

Peter said: ’I have long admired Emsleys for its outstanding client care and I am looking forward to working with the team to grow and diversify the firm in the months ahead.’

Meanwhile, Rachel Walton has been appointed as head of operations. She joins from an award-winning national law firm with a wealth of experience in business management and development, as well as expertise as a solicitor in conveyancing and property law.

Rachel commented: ’I feel so privileged to be joining a brilliant team who genuinely put clients at the heart of everything they do and to play my part in making sure that we exceed their expectations and are ready to meet the challenges of an ever changing landscape.’

The appointments follow investment in 2016 in a new office at No.6 Colton Mill after a period of growth. The new office space houses the firm’s conveyancing department and senior management team. The appointments also build on the success of Emsleys’ award-winning Review My Claim initiative, which seeks to tackle poor legal advice and service by ensuring genuine accident victims receive the compensation they are entitled to.
