Emsleys Solicitors has welcomed two solicitors to its family law and wills & probate teams.

Solicitor Judith McAra joins the family law team as a consultant specialising in financial cases, domestic violence, children cases and care proceedings.

Judith previously worked for Emsleys when she headed up Emsley Collins’ family law department in 1986. She went on to run a family law practice alongside her husband Bob McAra for 26 years, before merging with a national law firm to expand and develop its family offering.

Judith is a collaborative lawyer and a member of Resolution.

Director Peter Watson said: 'I have had the pleasure of working with Judith previously and I am delighted to work with her again and welcome her back to Emsleys. She will undoubtedly become an asset to the team.’

Head of family law Gabbie Clasper added: 'Judith’s many years of experience and reputation as one of Leeds’ best family lawyers adds strength to our team. As a qualified collaborative lawyer, Judith can help separating or divorcing couples reach settlements out of court to avoid the uncertainty of court hearings.’

Solicitor Kiran Hamilton also joins the wills and probate team. She specialises in wills, lasting powers of attorney, probate and Court of Protection work.

Kiran is an affiliate member of STEP, an associate member of Solicitors for the Elderly and a Dementia Friend.

Director and head of wills and probate Helen Gott said: 'We are pleased to welcome Kiran to the team at a time of growth not only for the department but also for Emsleys as a whole. Kiran’s appointment allows us to extend our existing team and take advantage of further opportunities for growth.’
