Law firm Howes Percival has recruited corporate and venture capital specialist Tom Redman as director of its corporate, commercial, and banking (CCB) team.

Redman joins the firm from Dentons UK and Middle East LLP and will be based in the firm's Milton Keynes office.

He has advised on all types of businesses, from owner-managed through to large, listed multinational groups. His has experience in acquisitions and disposals, private equity transactions, joint ventures, group reorganisations, restructurings, and corporate governance matters, as well as in both complex domestic and cross-border corporate transactions, with particular expertise in buying and selling motor dealerships.

Redman's venture capital work has seen him act for founders, start-ups, scale-ups and venture funds both in the UK and internationally across a myriad of sectors.

Partner and head of Howes Percival's CCB team Andy Harris commented: 'I am delighted to welcome Tom to Howes Percival.  I recruited him into my old team at Dentons five years ago, and his star has been in the ascendant since then. Not only does he have years of handling complex domestic and cross-border M&A under his belt, but he has experience in buying and selling motor dealerships, as well as venture and private equity deals.

'We've been expanding our corporate team across the firm, and our Milton Keynes office generally. In a little over a year, our MK office has virtually doubled in size. We're also looking to the future and planning for succession. Tom joins our new generation of senior lawyers, which in our region includes our new partners Marcus Carter and Matt Thompson. We want to capitalise on Tom's M&A expertise and his knowledge within the automotive, venture and private equity markets in particular.'
