Leading London law firm, Payne Hicks Beach, is delighted to announce the appointment of partner Emma Copestake who joins the firm’s Property department, effective 1 July 2020. Emma joins Payne Hicks Beach from Withersworldwide, where she was a partner in their property team.
Emma’s appointment follows the recent recruitment of private client partner Martin Paisner CBE and Jessica Henson, contentious trusts and estates partner, both from from Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner.
Emma’s practice encompasses all aspects of prime and super-prime residential property work. She specialises in contentious and non-contentious leasehold enfranchisement/extensions and landlord and tenant instructions, as well as advising on complex funding arrangements and ancillary tax matters.
Emma advises private individuals, investors, developers, banks, and institutions. She frequently acts for clients from overseas, often leading teams of advisers in a number of different jurisdictions.
Emma is further known for her “turnkey” service for private residential property buyers, acting on their behalf throughout the purchase; formulating the offer; acting on the acquisition; advising on tax and structuring; and assisting with all aspects of any development of the property.
Emma has previously been named as a “leading individual” in legal directories: Chambers High Net Worth and Legal 500 UK, commended for her client service and communication skills, as well as her depth of experience and commercial insight.
