Criminal defence firm Olliers Solicitors has appointed senior associate Martha Whitehead to support the firm’s focus on pre-charge engagement work.

Whitehead, who originally joined Olliers in 2001, re-joins the firm after working at Fieldings Porter Solicitors in Bolton.

She has over 30 years’ experience as a specialist crime practitioner and her work in recent years has included representation of clients charged with terrorism, sexual offences, drugs, murder and serious violence. 

In the higher courts, Whitehead has worked on large scale carousel fraud, money laundering and drugs operations. As a Magistrates’ court advocate, she has regularly represented clients from first appearance to trial.

In allegations of sexual offending, Whitehead has experience of working with clients from youth court to Crown.
