Zavos, head of the private client and tax team, has been with the firm since 2014. She sits on the firm’s management committee and will maintain her contentious trusts and estates practice, a core part of the firm's growth strategy.

Zavos will take over from Sara Maccallum who is retiring from Boodle Hatfield in April next year.

Commercial tax lawyer Maccallum has been with the firm for over twenty years - eight of which she served as senior partner.

Zavos commented: 'It is a fantastic privilege to become the next senior partner of Boodle Hatfield. Sara has given so much to the firm. Her leadership has enabled the firm to grow to a strong position in the market particularly during unprecedented global and local turmoil. I am excited to succeed Sara and continue the same drive and ambition for growth and success of the firm for the benefit of our clients and people.'

Maccallum added: 'It has been an honour to have been the senior partner and to have been trusted and supported by our people to be the custodian of this 300 year old firm during my eight year term as senior partner. The firm has gone from strength to strength and I am excited to see Andrea move into this role. She has been a vital part of the firm’s management committee as well as an exceptional department head. Andrea brings great expertise to this role, and I know that the firm is in excellent hands.'
