National firm Stone King has made two appointments to in Birmingham to start in May 2018. The firm welcomes senior associates Esther Maxwell and Charlotte Melhuish to its education team from Harrison Clark Rickerbys.

Esther originally practised as an employment lawyer before broadening into education law. At Stone King she will advise schools on a range of matters including academy conversions and transfers, safeguarding and special educational needs (SEND) pupils. Esther is also a panel member of the Department for Education’s Teacher Disciplinary Tribunal.

Charlotte Melhuish

Charlotte is a specialist education solicitor with particular expertise in SEND and safeguarding issues for independent schools and academies. She has built up her education experience at firms including Veale Wasbrough Vizards, Darbys Solicitors (now Knights LLP) and latterly at Harrison Clark Rickerbys, as well as through her role as a school governor.
