Greater Manchester and Cheshire-based law firm Maguire Family Law has welcomed three new hires.

Family associate solicitor Michael Swanick, based at the firm’s Altrincham office, joins from Shoosmiths where he worked in the specialist family team. He regularly advises clients on matters such as wealth protection on divorce, child residence and contact disputes, domestic abuse issues and cohabitation rights. He spent over 12 years working in the regulatory sector before specialising solely in family law. This included the Legal Services Ombudsman, the Insolvency Service and the General Medical Council, where he was an assistant registrar and coordinated safeguarding functions.

Solicitor Rachael Day has joined Maguire Family Law from Cheshire law firm Poole Alcock. She specialises in family law, including marriage and relationship breakdowns, divorce, arrangements for children and nuptial agreements, working to help clients resolve their separation arrangements through negotiations. If court proceedings are necessary, she is advises and assists clients from initial application to final hearing.

Solicitor Helen Royle, who qualified in September 2021, has worked at Slater & Gordon and exclusively practised in family law.
