Browne Jacobson has appointed Jonathan Fuggle as a partner in its Birmingham clinical negligence team.

Previously an associate with Bevan Brittan in Birmingham, Jonathan has more than 10 years’ experience in handling clinical negligence claims on behalf of the National Health Service Litigation Authority. He specialises in high-end claims with particular expertise in neurological, obstetric and gynecological matters.

His appointment follows on from the recent arrival of partner and clinical negligence claims specialist Tom Armstrong in the firm’s Nottingham office.

Jonathan joins one of the UK’s leading providers of legal services to the health and social care sector with clients including foundation trusts, acute trusts and hospital groups, mental health and wellbeing trusts, commissioning organisations and health regulators as well as private sector providers, independent healthcare groups and healthcare social enterprises.

The team has had an exceptional two years during which it was re-appointed by the NHS Litigation Authority and secured a host of impressive clients including NHS England, NHS Shared Business Services and St John Ambulance.

Simon Tait, head of health law at Browne Jacobson, said: ‘We are delighted that Jonathan has come on board in Birmingham. His experience and skills in handling complex, high-value claims for the NHS Litigation Authority makes his appointment an excellent addition to the team and will further add to our reputation in this area. His appointment signals our intention to continue providing our clients with a high-quality offering.’

Jonathan Fuggle said: ‘Browne Jacobson has a first-rate medical negligence team and their client portfolio is second to none. I am very excited to join this specialist team and looking forward to playing an instrumental role in the firm’s ongoing success.’
