City law firm ELS Legal has appointed three new partners. The appointments follow the firm’s recent partnership with international legal network Cathay Associates, which now has more than 50 partner offices around the world.

James Robertson joins the firm as a partner in ELS Legal’s innovative litigation department, while solicitor Scot Tsang, head of conveyancing, and consultant Dan Abrams, head of corporate law, have been promoted to partner position.

He specialises in cross-border litigation, breach of contract claims and director and shareholder disputes and represents clients from a broad range of industries, both in the UK and overseas.

Scot, a solicitor at ELS Legal for more than six years, specialises in all non-contentious commercial and residential property work including landlord and tenant matters, conveyancing and secured lending transactions. He has acted on a wide range of matters including the purchase of properties tenanted by Arsenal Football Club, J D Wetherspoon and Co-operative Group Food Limited.

Dan, formerly of K&L Gates, who joined the firm in 2017, is a highly experienced transactional and commercial advisory lawyer whose corporate practice specialises in mergers and acquisitions, joint ventures, structured finance and complex commercial contracts.

Richard Spector, managing partner at ELS Legal, said: ’ELS Legal has been making a statement in the field of real estate, corporate law and litigation for a number of years, and today’s promotions and new hires are testament to that.’

In March, it was revealed that ELS Legal’s latest accounts will show that the city law firm has made more than one million pounds profit following a successive year of global growth.
