Essex-based law firm Palmers Solicitors has announced that partner Matt Poli has been promoted to the role of head of company commercial department.

Matt joined the firm as a trainee in October 2004 and since then, he has practised in the department with responsibility of handling the corporate finance and commercial law requirements of the firm’s business clientele.

He has a considerable wealth of experience in corporate deals including high-profile cases and, more recently, dealing with the largest management buyout that the firm has ever been instructed on.

Furthermore, Matt has helped trainee solicitors and since the beginning of this year, he has been responsible for the management of the employment department.

BJ Chong, a partner at the firm, said: ‘Matt has many strengths, including new ideas and drive to continue the development of the department. It is an important service area for the firm and I know it is Matt’s ambition to ensure that it is a competitive and vibrant department fit for the future. Well done Matt.’
