Browne Jacobson has appointed a new head of office and deputy head of office for its Birmingham, Exeter, London and Manchester offices. The appointments will take effect from 1 March 2018.

Michael Stace will head up the firm’s Birmingham office. Michael is a corporate finance lawyer who joined the firm in 2017 from Blake Morgan LLP, where he was joint head of corporate finance. Employment partner James Tait has been appointed deputy head.

The new head of the firm’s Exeter office is education partner Julia Green. Julia joined the firm in 2013 from Foot Anstey to help launch a new education practice in the South-West. Regulatory partner Nigel Lyons has been appointed deputy head.

The firm’s London office will be jointly led by partners Caroline Green and Declan Cushley. Caroline is joint head of the firm’s nationally recognised retail and logistics sector group and works extensively with its multi-national fashion clients. Declan is head of the commercial and intellectual property team. Construction partner Tim Claremont has been appointed deputy head.

Health partner Amanda Callaghan will head up the firm’s newest office in Manchester. Amanda is head of the health and clinical negligence team for the North West and is described as being at the ‘forefront of client care and defendant medicolegal work’ by Legal 500. Education partner Dai Durbridge has been appointed deputy head.
