Serious Injury Solicitors, Potter Rees Dolan, have announced the promotion of five of their senior solicitors to partner.

Lesley Herbertson and Gill Edwards are highly experienced in clinical negligence matters having obtained landmark decisions in a number of cases and both are individually ranked in the independent legal guide Chambers UK and Legal 500 2018.

New partners

Lesley Herbertson who was a partner at Alexander Harris before then joining Irwin Mitchell, has now been with Potter Rees Dolan since 2010. Gill Edwards, a former Partner at Pannone, joined Potter Rees Dolan 18 months ago from Slater and Gordon. Lesley and Gill handle high value claims resulting from a wide range of injuries caused as a result of medical error including brain and spinal injury, chronic pain, and amputation. They are integral to the formidable reputation of the department with its rigorous approach to litigation and forensic attention to detail.

As well as securing many multi million pound awards for severely injured adults, both Gill and Lesley have eminent reputations acting on behalf of babies and children who have suffered brain injury at birth.

Fellow new partners Helen Shaw, Jeanne Evans and Gary Herbert are part of the personal injury team. The team is renowned nationally for its expertise in complex brain and spinal injury and serious orthopaedic injuries including amputations, and criminal injuries.

Helen Shaw is a personal injury specialist who has particular expertise in dealing with work-related and motorcycle accidents. As a motorcyclist herself she has an intrinsic knowledge of the discrete complex issues.

Jeanne Evans is a keen supporter of multi-disciplinary rehabilitation; she is acutely aware of the enormous difference this makes to individuals who’ve suffered life-changing injuries and their families.

Acting for children and young adults who have sustained brain injuries, Gary Herbert’s own personal intervention has in several cases ensured that therapy and substantial compensation for these has not been missed even when earlier medical investigations were inconclusive. Gary has a vast amount of experience in cases of the utmost severity.

Helen Dolan, partner and head of the clinical negligence department, said: ’We are delighted to reward the commitment and excellence of our talented team.’
