The University of Bradford has awarded an honorary doctorate to solicitor Ruby Bhatti.

Bhatti, a consultant at Taylor Price & Hunter Kahn Price Solicitors, has over 27 years’ experience in the legal sector.

She has also held a range of non-executive directorships across the health, housing, youth and education sectors, making the Queen’s New Year’s Honours list in 2019 when she received an OBE for her work in housing and helping young people.

Bhatti is the National Leader for Governance for Education for Yorkshire and the Humber, a board member of more than 25 schools, and a trustee for Bradford Youth Development Board, in addition to being chair of the Wolfson Centre for Applied Research and Deputy Lay chair for Bradford District & Craven Clinical Commissioning Group.

She is also a patient and carer lecturer at the University of Bradford and was recently appointed a faculty community fellow for the faculty of management, law, and social sciences.
