A firm by any other name

Obiter has had cause before to note how Chris Tite and Mark Lewis, founders of the eponymous law firm now associated with accountants Ernst & Young, have shown a distinct desire to recreate their old City law firm - Stephenson Harwood - at their new home.

When they first left Stephenson Harwood to set up Tite & Lewis in association with Coopers & Lybrand a few years back, they took several lawyers with them.

Now that they have left the merged Arnheim Tite & Lewis (renamed Landwell, and associated withPricewaterhouseCoopers), they are at it again.

The third Tite & Lewis partner - property lawyer Louise Gowman - learned her trade at Stephenson Harwood, while the latest addition to the partnership is Malcolm Hurley, lately of - you guessed it - Stephenson Harwood.
